NATURAL DISASTERS

Dear all,
Weather is changing globally due to global warming. We should be ready for natural disasters like earthquakes, tornados, sea storms, ice storms, floods etc. Many countries are facing this situation in worse ever form. Some of them are developed countries, but they know that it is better to wait for it patiently and let it pass. They are already equipped to deal such disasters but sometimes all preparation seems not enough. Actually, these are unstoppable and we are helpless against them. We are now able to predict some of them but could not judge the consequences. It is just on estimations and forecasts.
Being a civilized person, we can do in such situation is just to be vigilant and get appropriate training to face these natural disasters. I admire the role of telecommunication and internet in this regards that they are flooding the information for precautions and security measures to meet this situation. We should carefully listen and understand the steps for security and also train our children. Awareness is the key to handle such circumstances. It also relief rescue teams in crucial times.
I followed all the CNN transmission regarding “Irma” that was remarkable. All people were alert and abiding by the rules. But I disappointed to see a few people wandering and enjoying at beach with their kids and pets. It was high alert at that time but “who cares”. They were capturing the view in their eyes and camera just to upload a image or video on social sites. Police had arrested many for violation but we should also keep in mind that police and other rescue teams were deputed to help the victims. It is a waste of time and resources to engage them in such activities. Also it was not a picnic time and hurricanes and tornados do not spare anybody.
If someone is willing to help other and also want to come out at this time; a proper training should be the foremost priority for them. This training should be according to you geographical situations. In normal days, enlist yourself in rescue platforms. They will definitely call you to join them in such noble efforts. Help others and enjoy for being human. At least, we can do something for ourselves, family and neighbors.

Being human, we always stand after being hurt or damaged. It is human spirit that helps to fight against natural disasters. We are all in one string of humanity; people from world are always standing with victims of all natural disasters. Whenever an earthquake hit in developed country, all countries on globe and their people came ahead and contributed for reconstruction. Help is not limited with finance, we can show the whole world a gesture of being together in all calamity. We can share their grievances. This is the least we can do for others. Long live humanity.
Best regards.

WATER SCARCITY

Hello all,
We have almost 2/3 of our planet covered with water but still we are facing water scarcity. Well, it is a shortage of fresh drinking water that is required to fulfill our nutrient values and health. According to various surveys around 1.2 billion people are facing this situation. At a rough count it is almost 1/5 of total world population.
People living in urban and remote areas, both are facing the problem in different ways but in remote areas it is worse. Mostly in remote areas, there is no water filtration system available to fulfill their needs. This severe condition constrains them to use polluted and unhygienic water from pounds, canals and rivers. Ponds appear with rain water, it is a bowl shape or pool type area that collects the water in rain season. Both animals and humans drink and use the water from same place leading them to different dieses. An old way of water source is to dig a well for fresh water but it is not much common these days due to the fact that availability of fresh water is very deep.
In urban areas, it is in different way. Population is growing and officials are helpless to fulfill their basic needs. People living in main cities are facing the crisis and those who are well off, purchase fresh water at higher rates. Poor ones are in bad condition they have to wait in lines for their turn to get a bucket of fresh water. Sometimes they quarrel, pull, injure and say harsh words to each other. It is due to the frustration building within them, they have no way to release it out.
It is not a situation that came at once, our master minds were quite aware of it for long. Many of us heard the sentence that “third world war will be fought at water resources”. These think tanks are geniuses and they started to prepare weapon for wars and ignored the real problem. Although research work is on its way to find new ways to convert sea water into fresh water but it is still at limited level. Our heavy budgets are still focusing on military power and new missile and arms.
Well, it is a matter of existence of mankind and our future obviously. How can we ignore it? We are trying to reach different planets and not using the available resources. It is an age of science and technology so why not to emphasis on main issue. I am sure there is no hurdle in it except the power game. We have many raw minds that are actually capable to overcome the problem. What we need is to start this job at grass root level. Countries start big projects for the betterment of their people like huge dams etc but according to the scenario, it is required to spread it at low level with controls over it.

People are thirsty in most part of the world and we should take initiatives to help them. Big minds should come forward and facilitate them. It is all around the world; either it is Africa or Asia. Organizations like WHO are not enough, they are doing their best but numbers of victims are increasing day by day. Some more efforts are requirement of time. I request to cut the budget for huge and destructible arms and invest it at the betterment of people.
Best regards.

STREET CHILDREN

Hello all,
labor5
Street child

We observe many children wandering in streets, they collect many re-usable items out of the trash for their earnings or beg all the day long. According to statistics, the count of these children has been reached to almost 1.2 million in Pakistan. I think the count is more as we observe no survey in past many years. Approximately all of them are illiterate and homeless, due to many circumstances. Most of them are the children of homeless parents and lot are run away from their homes, escaping from impropriate, abusive and violent attitude of their parents or guardians.

How one soft and sympathetic hearted person can oversee these barefooted children; doing work apart from the severity of the weather, either it is hot or cold? They have no time to play, many beggars play and enjoy with each other while traffic signal is green and start to work as it turns into red. They have been deprived of all the basic needs i.e. food, cloth, education, home and better future. Whenever we look at their eyes it seems they are questioning or demanding the rights they deserve. They must have many questions on their minds but have no way to express them and they are silent. Their silence is dangerous which will absolutely burst out distinctly and society has to bear the consequences.
They never protested for their rights. They never ask authorities to solve their problems. Whenever they see our children availing all the benefits and enjoying their lives, these questions surely pinch them deep in their mind;
Why we can not avail all these happiness?
Why we are living without a roof under the open sky?
Who is responsible for our uncertain future?
Will there be any change in our miserable life?
Why I cannot play with toys?
Was I born to laborious work only?
We do not have answers to these or we are avoiding doing so. We celebrate the days and write many things about them but practically, there are few who come ahead to solve their problems. According to me, as many of us agree, they need at least basic education. Government authorities can manage it properly because they have a lot of resources and funding for this reason. But there are many complications with government machinery. They have many tactics for delays and political hurdles involved everywhere. So people should come forward to help such children.
As these street children are financially supporting their families and cannot afford to pay the fee or give time for proper schooling. The persons or private organizations, who are interested in this noble cause, can help them to teach at evening timings. They do not need difficult syllabus to teach, all needed is to familiarize them with books reading and writing skills. Most of them are grown up children and difficult to patronize. They are hard to handle but not impossible. There are many examples of such fake organizations those are not interested in the welfare of children. Their entire motive is just to attract funding from all over the world. That is an awful situation; we should work for such children with a true heart.
street3They have already been dragged into a world where they face abusive language, exploitation and bullying by sick minds. They have lost their identity and dignity. By giving them support we can avoid crimes, be begging, child labour and many illegal and unethical works. It is beneficial for not only to those ignored children but also it will be fruitful for our society.

Education is the only solution that can help them to grow and flourish in the world. There must be many masterminds hidden in between them. World require their abilities; do not perform this job for namesake do it as charity and charity begin at home. Find someone around you, look at his/her responsibilities and make the priorities in this regard accordingly. If someone is well off, should provide them with a loan as a support for their education. Another way to prop up is to provide the child with technical education so they can earn in a respectable way.
Best regards.

EUNUCH – STRUGGLE FOR RECOGNITION

Hello all,
Recently, I have watched T.V drama on “ARY digital” with the title “Khuda mera bhi hai” meaning “God is mine too”. The subject was acceptance of eunuch as a child and a citizen. Most of the civilized countries have no issues in this regard, people with this gender are living a satisfied life there but in Asia, this gender is not treated as they deserve. We have a discriminatory attitude towards them. There was an era when they have respectful status in the palaces of Mughal emperors.
In our society, a lot of people want to hear this sentence at the time of delivery “congratulations, it is a baby boy”, there are few who are satisfied with a baby girl but situation worsens when it is the third gender. Most of the parents refuse to accept such a child right after the birth. They think that it is shameful to accept them and society will make fun of this incident.  People assume such parents as unhealthy in a way that they are unable to give birth to a boy or a girl.
This is a tradition since centuries in South Asia; many illiterate people blame mothers for the birth of a girl or a eunuch. They also praise the mother for a baby boy. People have no concern with science and research; they have their sayings, stereotypes, and customs to follow. It is not only with those who are living in remote areas but many so-called civilized and highly educated minds do not want to accept this reality. These children are mostly given to a “Guru” (an old transgender taking care of such gender). The problem starts from this stage; they are being spoiled and thrown away as a waste for their whole life.
Gurus have a tradition to train such children for dance and singing. This training has no concern with perfection it is just for the sake of fun. When these children grow up, they dance and sing in streets and on several occasions. Once, it was a tradition to call them at weddings and birthdays. Many people think that their prayers and blessings are pure and will be accepted soon, so they called them at time of birth of a baby boy.  This tradition is rare these days and eunuchs have mostly become beggars. You can observe many of them with makeup and with ladies’ outfits at almost every traffic signal. They have a different style of begging, normally they keep blessing you until you gave them some money but it should be a big currency, they are not contented with coins. Many times, I witnessed that they throw the charity back if they are not happy with the amount. There are many who still dance and earn their living but a lot of them are involved in crimes and unethical activities. It is obvious, such ignored and discarded people can easily be trapped and used by criminals. Hence, they are now involved in so many other illegal activities.
Problem is the recognition of such children in our society, parents who dare to accept such children are often humiliated by others. They would make fun of them for being supportive of the eunuchs. These children are being treated as aliens, humiliated in our society. No parents like them to play with their children or be their friends. Though’ there is an appropriate word to call them i.e. “ Khwaja Sara” which was basically a title for them back in the Mughal dynasty. But, they are being called with different abusive names like “Khusra”, “Na-Mard”, “Heejra”, “Chakka” and many more. Their school and college fellows make fun of them without any reason and they are not supposed to react against such behavior and are demanded to bear the bullying silently.
Although we observe some change in our society that people are educating their minds in this regard but still there is a lot to do. It is such a pity this gender was never considered officially until recently when they were finally acknowledged as lawful citizens and can now apply for National Identity card.Eunuchs are now aware of their rights and protested several times for their demands.
The T.V Show that I mentioned above took a brave and bold step towards a selfless society and awareness. They motivated people to come forward and accept all the realities attached to this creation of God. They are not being thrown away from anywhere; they are as real as we are. Acceptance will make them beneficial for them and for society as well. They have a mind and feel like others; they can be a creative one, worker, sales rep., businessman, teacher, researcher, even manager and much more. All we need is a change in our perspectives. Once again, well-done team ARY Digital.

Best regards.
